Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Mode Nail Bar collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we don't keep our own customer database, we never see or store your full card number, and we don't sell your information.
What we collect
- When you book or check in: your name, phone number, email, appointment details, notes such as the technician you asked for, and your visit history. These are stored in Square, which runs our bookings, customer records, MODE Rewards and gift cards.
- When you pay: card payments at the salon are handled by our payment processor, and gift cards and any card saved with a booking by Square. Both protect cards under the payment industry's security standard (PCI DSS). We never see or keep your full card number.
- At the salon: our team's work tickets record your name and the services you had, so we can assign technicians, follow up on a fix and pay our team. They hold no card details.
- When you message us: what you send us through Google, Instagram, Yelp, text or email.
- When you visit our website: basic device and usage information, such as pages viewed, browser and approximate location, through Google Analytics, plus our hosting provider's standard server logs. Our website has no accounts or sign-up forms.
How we use it
- To book, provide and follow up on your services, and to send confirmations and reminders.
- To answer your messages.
- To run MODE Rewards and gift cards.
- To send promotions, only as described below.
- To understand how our website and ads are doing, for example how many people tap Book.
- To keep the records that tax and licensing laws require, and to keep our salon safe.
Promotional emails and texts
We send promotional emails through Square, and every email has an unsubscribe link. We send promotional texts only to people who opt in, for example by joining MODE Rewards; reply STOP to any text to opt out. Booking confirmations and reminders are not promotions.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with others for their own marketing. We share it only with the services that help us run the salon:
- Square: bookings, customer records, MODE Rewards, gift cards and promotional messages.
- Our card payment processor: payments at the salon.
- Google: website analytics and ad measurement, the map on our website, and our Business Profile. Messages you send to our Business Profile, including chats with its automated assistant, are handled by Google under Google's privacy policy.
- Meta (Instagram) and Yelp: messages you send us there, and the Instagram photos shown on our website.
- Firebase, part of Google: website hosting.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and to measure our Google ads, for example taps on Book. The map on our website comes from Google Maps and the Instagram photos from Instagram, and those services may set their own cookies.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our website doesn't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them, but the choices above still work.
How long we keep it
Your customer record stays in Square while you are a client, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Work tickets and payment records are kept as long as tax and business laws require.
Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you promotions, by emailing hello@modenailbar.com or calling (213) 799-6688. We will respond within 45 days and won't treat you differently for asking.
California residents may also ask whether we have shared their personal information with others for those companies' own marketing. We have not.
Security
We rely on established providers, including Square, our payment processor and Google, that protect data with encryption and industry security standards, and our team can only reach what their work needs. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you think something is wrong.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information online. Children's services are booked by a parent or guardian.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy here, with a new date at the top.
